Hi - it's been a minute (well, more than a minute) since our last post because it's been a very hectic semester! We're getting back into it soon and we'll probably do a physical release after recess week but we'll have a couple of posts in the meantime!
For this list, we'll focus on girls who have some kind of personality problem like being shy or being bad at communicating. Tsunderes don't count because there are too many of them, although some may end up in the list.
1) Waratte! Sotomura-san!

Sotomura-san is a scary delinquent – or so everybody says. She’s very scary but that’s because she’s bad at smiling and doesn’t know how to interact with others. In fact, she’s very kind and helpful but her shyness prevents others from noticing these kind acts. Luckily, she makes a friend at the start of the series and this series depicts their friendship as Sotomura-san learns how to smile properly and make friends. Very cute series in 4-koma so it’s super easy to read.

2) Usami-san Ha Kamawaretai

Usami has a life-threatening condition which will cause her to die if she feels lonely. This is bad because she’s got zero social skills and she looks like a delinquent so nobody wants to be friends with her. Luckily, her seat neighbor learns about this and reluctantly becomes her friend to keep her from dying, but then they have a lot of fun.

3) Ane Log

Moyako seems like the perfect girl. However, her brother is a siscon with incestuous tendencies! Well, that’s just what she thinks. Actually, her younger brother is totally normal and it’s actually Moyako who’s got the perverted mind.

4) Tonari no Furi-san ga Tonikaku Kowai

Furi-san is a scary-looking girl who seems like a delinquent but she’s actually not that bad (she is pretty badass though). Somehow, she falls in love with her seatmate, Taira. He’s in a real pickle because he was actually hoping for a cute seat neighbor and is terrified of Furi, and thinks that he’s become her gofer when she’s actually claimed him for herself! Standard romcom antics ensue.

5) Sekimen Shinaide Sekime-san

Standard romcom but the twist is that the girl really likes the boy but is terribly shy (only towards him) and can’t even stand to look at him or be near him so they do all their lovey-dovey things from a distance.

6) Omoi ga Omoi Omoi-san
This is completely the opposite from the last entry. Omoi-san is really in love with her boyfriend and is very “heavy” so she overreacts to everything e.g., planning their marriage, how many children, etc. which puts the boy under a lot of pressure. I think it would be quite scary in real life but it's just a story so it's funny.

7) Yuugai Shitei Doukyuusei

A slice-of-life comedy between two schoolgirls. The class president is very virtuous and diligent while her classmate is really perverted and can’t make friends. The president resolves to reform her classmate and correct her mindset but that’s easier said than done. There are a lot of lewd jokes but the heart of the manga is the girls’ friendship and how the perverted girl is making an effort to correct her antisociality.

8) Nega-kun and Posi-chan

A rom-com between Nega (who’s depressingly pessimistic) and Posi (who’s ridiculously optimistic). Somehow, they both like each other but the relationship never goes anywhere because Nega thinks everything has gone wrong but Posi thinks that they’re already going out. Really funny.

9) Houjou Urara no renai shousetsu okaki nasai!

A very rich girl discovers that her schoolmate is her favorite author and wants to be friends but she can’t bring herself to tell the writer how she feels and then somehow ends up blackmailing him into writing a novel for her and then forcing him to be her boyfriend. It’s really weird but it’s not that bad. Personally, I can’t stand the guy but some people think it’s cute.

Well, that's it for now. We're not really seeing a jump in our views but we'll keep pushing hard to win back your affections!!!
