Hi! We'll be publishing our articles more frequently for the coming weeks since there's only a bit less than a month left of the summer break. In our last post, we covered a lot of scary manga so we will do happier stories in this one!
1) Secret Reptiles

A great series about a gigantic pet store with a lot of animals – we focus on the reptile section and the enthusiastic worker who loves nothing but reptiles. I love animals a lot (dogs, especially) and I consider myself a frog-and-lizard-connoisseur, so the cute drawings really appealed to me. I wish the government would approve lizards as pets! WHY? WHY? WHY? I mean, the government is happy to bulldoze a forest anyway so how would a stinking lizard mess up the ecosystem any more?

2) Do You Like Big Juniors?

A tall schoolgirl is madly in love with her short senior. Standard romantic comedy – but it’s nice!

3) My Charms Are Wasted on Kuroiwa Medaka

The school’s most popular girl sets her sights on the one boy who doesn’t seek her affections like the other boys do. However, her attempts are wasted because he’s a monk in training! Little does she realize that her womanly charms are in fact working their magic on him and his discipline is crumbling, bit by bit. The art in this series is exceptional! The main girl is drawn super good! Like, really good.

4) Ballpark de Tsukamaete!

A salaryman goes to watch baseball games at his favorite stadium and meets a beer girl who teases him! Actually, the salaryman doesn’t appear all that much and we see more of the beer girl. I used to like sports a lot (although I have no idea about baseball) so I think this series captures the fun of going to a stadium quite well. The characters are all likable, especially our beer girl. I think her uniform is really good and I really want to wear one!!!

5) Girlfriend Who Absolutely Doesn’t Want to Take a Bath vs Boyfriend Who Absolutely Wants Her to Take a Bath

The one good thing about these lengthy titles is that they tell you everything you need to know. Extremely cute and it makes me jealous!!!

6) Shiotaiou no Sato-san ga Ore ni dake Amai

Sato-san is a very cold girl who chases everyone away with her killer glare. However, our main character (who works at a bakery) sees her struggling to take a photo of her food and discovers that she’s actually a shy girl who wants to get good at Instagram so she can make friends because she’s actually too shy to make friends normally. Romance story ensues.

7) GGWP. ~ Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games ~

At a prestigious boarding school, a girl from a not-so-upper-class background feels out of place but she meets a strange girl playing a fighting game in a secluded spot. This strange girl approaches her and “seduces” her into playing a round but it turns out that our main girl is actually a master at the game! Hot-blooded (virtual) fighting action ensues!

8) KOHARU HARU!

A slice of life following an energetic tomboy in the school’s cheerleading club. Honestly, I don't the story is that memorable but the characters are quite fun to be around and it sort of feels a bit like you're in a club in secondary school again so that's a nice feeling.

9) Jinja Yell!

A boy arrives to stay at a temple and meets two interesting girls. Quite funny and relaxing to read.

10) Kono Kaisha ni Suki na Hito ga Imasu

A romantic slice of life about two co-workers who are dating and keep their relationship a secret from everyone else. It’s extremely sweet! Although there’s no nudity, there’s some adult stuff and it’s a bit “doki doki”!
