10/2/21: Valentine's Day Manga

Valentines’ Day Manga

1) Please Go Home, Akutsu san!

A delinquent girl forces her classmate to let her stay at his apartment and use it as a hangout. Initially, she’s really bullying him and he’s complying out of fear but they fall in love as they get into typical rom-com hijinks. HILARIOUS.

2) Sakurai-san Wants to Be Noticed!

A girl teases her classmate relentlessly, hoping he’ll notice that she’s in love with him. They’re obviously both in love with each other but can’t quite bring themselves to make the final dive to seal it in!!! Super sweet!

3) I Want Your Mother to Be with Me!

A part-timer has a crush on his older co-worker who’s a widow and single-mother. Initially, he says, “I don’t mind that you have a son, please be with me!” but she gets angry that he’s not even taking the fact that she has a son seriously, prompting him to work hard to become a man worthy of the woman and her young son! Heart-warming.

4) Living, Eating and Sleeping Together

Realistic (?) look at a cohabitating couple who’ve been together for more than 10 years.

5) Nega-kun and Posi-chan

A hilarious romcom of near-misses between an outrageously optimistic girl and a ridiculously pessimistic boy. Funny!

6) Himegasaki Sakurabo wa Kyoumo Fubin Kawaii!

Basically, it’s a story focusing on the childhood friend who “always” loses. It starts off crap but within 6 chapters, it gets SUPER good. Some ecchi content but nothing explicit!

7) Furi-san is Scary!

A delinquent girl has a crush on her classmate who sits next to him but he misunderstands their relationship and thinks that he’s a gofer. EXTREMELY cute.

8) Lies of the Sheriff Evans

A sheriff is super good at gunplay but his secret is that he developed those skills solely to win the affections of girls! As the series goes on, we focus more on his not-quite relationship with his childhood friend and rival, Annie Oakley, who likes him but is too proud to admit it.

9) Maid no Kishi-san

A kind-hearted rich man kind of sort likes his super capable maid, Kishi, who he’s known since they were young. It’s cute and funny because he’s super capable BUT also unbelievably clumsy, so his maids (yes, he has an army of them) lovingly dote on him but they also make fun of him and they all have fun about it. There are quite a few “doki doki” moments here.

10) Love is Still Too Early for Himeno-chan

A very precocious elementary-schooler pines for her oblivious classmate, who misunderstands her overtures as threatening conduct. VERY cute and VERY funny.
